The Newlyweds/WPC

Delta

This week, share a photograph that signifies transitions and change to you. It can be the very beginning of a phase, or the very end. As you pick up your lens, explore the ways in which a single photograph can express time, while only showing us a small portion of any given moment.

I’m choosing a recent moment from this past weekend at my neice’s wedding. All eyes are upon you at that transitional moment in time where you become The Mr. and Mrs.

BRGR/Thursday Doors

When a 3-year-old writes notes to “His One True Love”, you deliver. No hesitating. No batting the eyes. You make it happen.

This Thursday Door is where we entered to our meeting place.

BRGR1 (2)

Not the best lighting when someone’s headlights are blazing behind you.

BRGR in Prairie Village, Kansas is a pretty cool place that happened to have an unusual door for a strip mall location. Points scored straight off.

BRGR (2) The outdoor seating is vacant in this pic, but when we arrived the tables were loaded up with the warmer temps we’ve been having. They even have the fire lit. Very cozy.

The name of the dive was accurate in what they specialize in. Burgers. Catering to those who need the g-free version(my daughter & hubster) was another high scoring point of the night.

Notes delivered and another successful Doors venture complete.

From a Couple Years Back/WPC

Face

  • Replaced my old laptop.
  • Installed Word (time comsuming when they don’t let you buy a disk anymore)
  • Opened yet another email. I now have ???. Probably some floating around in cyberspace that are long forgotten.
  • And bookmarked sites again. Going to have to try to relocate those A to Z blogs I visited and promised to Revisit this coming year.

So are the woes of a computer that goes berserk.

And I Still had to use the old dinosaur desktop-with-a-tower, slow-as-molasses computer to find these pictures.

There were Matching-Pajama Christmases, Proud High School moments and the    Busting-Your-Rear-Ends to Help Mom at craft shows.

Boundaries: WPC

Time to do a little test.

Do you know anything about VWM? (Vanishing White Matter disease)

My family has learned a lot about it since my daughter befriended a mother and son dealing with this disease. They have both endeared themselves to us with their continued smiles and enormous amount of courage through this whole journey.

We went to a little extra effort this morning to support mom, Bethany, and son, Isaiah. A little west of us (78 miles to be exact) there was a walk event…..

Isaiah’s Walk to Cure VWM. There was a very supportive turnout and we are so honored to have been a part of it. In Bethany’s words,

“If you do not know anything about Isaiah, he is a 4 year old boy living with a rare brain disease called Vanishing White Matter Disease. He is 1 of 129 people in the world living with the disease. VWM is caused by a mutation in the DNA, which is a result from the parents passing on mutated genes. Isaiah has 2 mutations in his DNA. It is believed he is the only person living with those two types of DNA mutations, individually and combined. We are doing this event to raise awareness and funds to support VWM research to find a cure for Isaiah and the other 128 people.”

Today we celebrated his 5th birthday……one he wasn’t predicted to see.

Isaiah's Balloon Release

Love holds No Boundaries.

When it came to helping a child, there clearly were no boundaries today.

Happy 5th Birthday Isaiah!
