BRGR/Thursday Doors

When a 3-year-old writes notes to “His One True Love”, you deliver. No hesitating. No batting the eyes. You make it happen.

This Thursday Door is where we entered to our meeting place.

Not the best lighting when someone’s headlights are blazing behind you.

BRGR in Prairie Village, Kansas is a pretty cool place that happened to have an unusual door for a strip mall location. Points scored straight off.

BRGR (2) The outdoor seating is vacant in this pic, but when we arrived the tables were loaded up with the warmer temps we’ve been having. They even have the fire lit. Very cozy.

The name of the dive was accurate in what they specialize in. Burgers. Catering to those who need the g-free version(my daughter & hubster) was another high scoring point of the night.

Notes delivered and another successful Doors venture complete.

On the Safe Side/Thursday Doors

Sunday I figured the only door pics I’d end up with were these from a laundromat.

But as fate would have it, I had a little luck.

Now remember, banks are closed on Sundays in most places. But I was lucky to find this one …….

Inside this bank-turned-restaurant appropriately named “Merchants”.

Cell phones can’t quite capture the whole door and window together with the space we had available so you’ll have to ‘picture’ it all in one.

Located in Downtown Lawrence, Kansas, if you’re ever in this part of the Midwest, Merchants is a real treat both in appearance and taste. Food pics some other time.

Port Fonda/Thursday Doors

It seemed I was going to have a “School” look to my Thursday Doors entry this week. We’d been spending the first half of our weekend on yard work, namely emptying the compost corral. And the second half got off to a late start even after missing church in the A.M.

So once arriving at our Sunday afternoon destination, we were entertained with a lil’ tour of our daughter’s shared office space. As she reads this she is cringing while wondering if I’m going to put her picture in here. But a promise is a promise and I will refrain from letting you see her and her office mate in today’s blog. Maybe they’ll model for me another time? So I made a collage to show you instead.

Looks like a typical set of school doors right?

then we had dinner.

And I found hope for this post.glass-doors4

Not exactly what I would have expected to use in my weekly entry except for the frost decorating they did to set their business apart. Port Fonda was an excellent choice made by our daughter for the evening meal.

And here’s a better view of that decorative glass across from me at the table.

For those of us who celebrate Halloween, this felt kind of fitting on this Thursday Doors ahead of that observance.
